1. Reanult KWID (Automatic)

Indian buyers can’t stop loving the SUVish looking small car.  French car maker Renault’s blockbuster product became the 7th most sold car in India in the month of September. It has emerged as a strong alternative to market leader Maruti Suzuki’s small car Alto.

While buyers were happy with shifting those gears manually, they will have another reason for getting one. Kwid AMT (automatic) version is expected to hit markets very soon. It will be available in 1.0 litre engine with 67 bhp power. Safety features like dual front airbags and ABS are also expected to be offered as standard.

2. Next Generation Chevrolet Beat

General Motors has had limited success in the Indian car market. But company wants to give buyers a fresh reason to try their staple model Beat again. The new generation Beat. Expected to be launched in the first half of 2017, the Chevrolet Beat is expected to be built on the modified version of the existing platform. The petrol version will have 1.2 litre, 4 cylinder engine, while diesel is likely to be powered by 936 cc 3 cc engine. Expect the new Beat to be slightly bigger than the current model. As the automatic transmission’s demand rise in Indian market, company might like to offer new beat with one.

3. Tata Kite 5 Sedan

Tata motors seem to have found their mojo back with the success of their small car offering – Tiago, well if not totally partly. The homegrown auto major has other offerings up its sleeves. For the sedan customers, Tata Kite 5 could be a car to look forward to. Well, lets call it sub-sedan, as it will sit below the official sedan from tata stable – i.e. Tata Zest.

The petrol version of the car will be equipped with a 1.2 liter, 83.8 bhp engine and diesel comes with a new 1.05 litre, 69.04 bhp engine. On transmission front, a 5 speed manual and an AMT gearbox are expected to be offered. It is expected to be rolled out very soon.

4. Chevrolet Beat Activ

It was unveiled in the Auto expo 2016 in Delhi. That it is based on the existing Beath hatchback and is expected to share design and features, is a no brainer. But it also features, LED headlights, silver skid palte, plastic ladding on the front bumper, dual-port grille.

Under the hood, you can find Beat’s 1.0 litre (56.3 bhp) diesel engine and 1.2 litre petrol engine (76.8 bhp). Transmission will be manual.

5. Tata Pelican

It is rumored to be in the works. Tata motors wants to fill a category between Tiago and Nano. And as per the reports, the car’s code name is Pelican. When launched, this budget hatchback will compete against the Maruti Alto K10, Hyundai Eon and others in this category.

It will be based on Nano platform but is expected to be more chic in terms of interiors, with a more powerful engine to power it. Vehicle might get a 800 cc 1.0 litre petrol engine which Tata is developing.

6. Chevrolet Beat Essentia

Chevrolet wants to fill its offering gap. It doesn’t have a car to offer under Sail. So it unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016, the Chevrolet Beat Essentia, its sub-compact sedan.

It will be based on Beat platform. Like Beat crossover, this sub compact sedan is also expected to be offered with features like new LED headlamps, dual port grille etc. Powering it under the hood, will be 1.2 litre SMARTECH petrol (76.8 bhp) and 1.0 litre diesel engines (56.3 bhp). It is also expected to come with a usual 5-speed manual transmission.

7. New Hyundai Santro (2018)

It was a first Hyundai car for most Indians and a blockbuster product for the company. Well, people are already missing it. There is reason to cheer. It might make a comeback in India in 2018, albeit in a new avtar. It will be based on an all new platform. It is expected to be more chic than earlier. What it will look like, is anybody’s guess. It might come as a a replacement to old Hyundai I 10 and can be offered with an AMT.
